About Me

Hi, I’m David. I’ve been a professional performer, myself, for nearly fifteen years, I hold multiple degrees in vocal studies and performance from top conservatoires, and I have over a decade of teaching experience.

My goal is to help my students find the truest expression of their voice. There’s no better feeling than helping someone connect with themselves and their instrument not only technically, but also artistically and emotionally.

I offer clear, straightforward techniques which are repeatable, actionable, and empower my students to continue their vocal development outside of lessons.

But don’t just take my word for it…

  • "Working with David is a breath of fresh air. He is a passionate educator, loves singing/singers/voices, is super personable, and has an incredible ear. His method is flexible, he can parry pedagogically when needed but is also able to meet you in a more tactile way as singing is so physical and viscerally personal. As someone who is in the throes of a singing career, I appreciate these rare but incredibly valuable qualities."

    — Franny, Soprano

  • "I would recommend Dave to anyone seeking to gain an increased insight into their voice and how to utilise their instrument with a healthy technique both physiologically and mentally. I went to him for a vocal “tune up” and thanks to his incredible depth of knowledge and understanding of both vocal anatomy and the idiosyncrasies of singers methodologies he was able to help me see my instrument from new, and constructive, perspectives. He really did teach an old dog new tricks! "

    — Charlie, Soprano

  • "Had a fantastic singing lesson with David — the environment was friendly, fun, and totally put me at ease. He gave me some really useful pointers that made a noticeable difference straight away, which was brilliant. What I loved most was how he explained everything in terms of the anatomy behind it, so it all actually made sense rather than just being abstract advice. Great lesson all round — I'll definitely be back!"

    — Will, Tenor

  • "I was hugely impressed by Dave's ability to accurately describe the sensations I was experiencing after only a few scales. He was able to change the terminology and approach he was using with ease to find the image or action which worked best for me, without making me feel like I wasn't understanding. I would highly recommend him to voice users at both professional and amateur level."

    — Andrew, Tenor

  • "David's wealth of current experience as a working professional singer, his depth of technical and physiological knowledge, and his honest, intuitive and efficient nature immediately set my first session with him apart from others. After just one session, I had the feeling that my vocal toolbox had been sharpened and polished, and was primed for use going forward into a busy and demanding season. His enthusiasm for listening and learning, his understanding of the demands of the industry, as well as his downright joyful energy are what make David a truly wonderful teacher, and why I would highly recommend him. "

    — Rachel, Soprano

  • "Dave is not only super knowledgeable and extremely helpful when it comes to making a singer think about their singing in a whole new way, but he also manages to be the kindest and most positive person to give feedback! I would encourage anyone to go and see him as often as they can."

    — Anna, Soprano

  • "David’s exceptional knowledge of the anatomy of the voice, and his enthusiastic passion in wanting for us to discover new things was a true joy and pleasure. His delivery of technical advice, guidance and exercises was a complete breath of fresh air and exactly what I needed. His eagerness and attention to detail and wanting me to discover new elements of my singing was exceptional. The confidence he gave me as well as the pure joy and fun in one session alone, is a testament to the effort and commitment David brings to sessions. "

    — Rhydian, Tenor

  • "Working with David was wonderful! The atmosphere was relaxed but we worked hard. I wasn’t afraid of making mistakes and felt comfortable sharing my own ideas. He really helped me with my air flow and jaw issues in particular and I would certainly go back for another lesson."

    — Lucy, Mezzo-Soprano

  • "Dave brings a number of rare qualities into his teaching, all of which I found to be refreshing and enabling. His enthusiasm feels real and heartfelt, which makes the learning experience feel collaborative. This brought out the best in my body and voice, as I felt cared for. He has a clear method and approach, which is super helpful. I felt because of this that I was able to look at parts of my singing through his well-articulated lens, assess how this changed my experience, and add valuable new things to my toolkit. He has great ears, brilliant understanding of anatomy and how the body should behave when singing, and he’s a really fantastic guy. I think he could take a lot of singers on a really rewarding journey."

    — Matthew, Tenor
